More than five years in the making, the project profiled here pushed the landscape architects and watershapers at Root Design Co. of Austin, Texas, to explore the limits of their creativity. The result, says Ben Dozier, is a complex set of garden rooms that draw on classic French and Asian styles as well as extensive plantings and numerous sculptures, garden ornaments and fine hardscape treatments.
