Provisional Licence
An applicant for a provisional licence [Australian spelling] must be at least 17 years, held a learner licence for 6 months, and either completed a logbook with an accredited driving instructor, or passed a practical driving test. A provisional licence is valid for 3 years. Provisional drivers must display red on white ‘P Plates’ for three years, unless they take the Road Ready Plus course after six months, or are over 26 years and have held the licence for 6 months.
